The fast growing parish sought guidance for future developments. Through the master planning process it was determined the church needed an Activity Center and Outreach facility.
St. John Parish is rapidly growing with new parishioners as well as expanding the elementary school. GraceHebert was tasked with developing a Master Plan to guide the parish on what is needed for the future development of the campus. After holding parish meetings including several group meetings with the individual ministry groups the Master Plan was created based on the wants and needs of the parishioners. Through the master planning process it was determined the church needed an Activity Center and Outreach facility.
St. John the Evangelist Activity Center is a multipurpose space used for Parish functions. The building will be used for a variety of events including the Church fair, Church auction, Parish School of Religion events, Parish Youth organization events and dances, overflow masses at Christmas and Easter, and may be rented by Parishioners for family events. The vaulted ceilings draws your eyes up once you enter the space. The activity center has a platform for performances, two meeting rooms, a Youth room, and plenty storage to accommodate the different church organizations. The building façade is consistent with the campus in its palate of brick with stucco. The design incorporates clerestory windows to increase natural lighting on the interior spaces and large porches for gathering during events. The interior features warm finishes for a timeless and welcoming atmosphere.
The Outreach Center provides a facility to help the needy of the Church Parish by enlarging the food pantry, providing an area for washing and packaging of raw or fresh food, and providing a dedicated space for workers to aid the needy with applications for assistance.
