GHC designed St. Luke’s Community Hospital prototype micro-hospital for locations in Olathe, Roeland Park, Witchita, Leawood, Kansas City, Shawnee, Overland Park, Kansas. The facility is a 17,000-square-foot, new construction, stand-alone facility with 24-hour inpatient, diagnostic, and emergency services.
St. Luke’s Community Hospital’s inpatient department consists of eight inpatient beds with both private and semi-private rooms. The diagnostic imaging department includes fully digital X-ray, low-dose CT, and ultrasound services. The seven-bed emergency department includes exam/treatment rooms with one being a trauma room for higher acuity patients. Its in-house lab and pharmacy are both fully equipped to meet the needs of both inpatient and emergency services.
To best utilize its many services, the hospital’s footprint is arranged for efficient staff and patient flow. A nurse station with lofty ceilings bordered by clerestory windows is centrally located between the inpatient and emergency service departments.
