Investing more than $100 million, Ochsner Health System expands into the Baton Rouge healthcare market with its new medical campus near the Mall of Louisiana. Grace Hebert Curtis Architects worked closely with Ochsner to create the campus masterplan and design of the new five-story 155,000 square foot Medical Office Building, 30,000 square foot 10-bed Micro-hospital, and Surgical Center.
Ochsner expanded its presence along the I-10 Bluebonnet/Siegen Corridor, beginning with a new clinic on approximately 25 acres of property. This is part of the planned High Grove development between the Mall of Louisiana and I-10.
The campus includes a five-story, 155,000 square foot Medical Office Building (MOB), which offers Imaging such as X-ray, MRI, CT scan capabilities as well as Lab, Pharmacy and retail food services on site. More than 85 providers work at this facility to support primary care, urgent care and multi-specialty clinics.
Attached to the MOB is a 30,000 square foot, 10-bed Micro-Hospital – a smaller inpatient unit offering robust services as a more intimate healthcare option – and Surgical Center that includes: 4 state-of-the art operating rooms, 2 gastrointestinal procedure suites, 2 pain management procedure rooms and the ability to perform general, ENT, orthopedic, gynecology and urology surgeries.
The types of specialty care at this location include Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Pediatric sub-specialties and other surgical specialties.
