The new critical access hospital will offer in-patient and out-patient services, an emergency department, surgical, and diagnostic services. The hospital will accommodate 25 inpatient beds. Of the 25 beds two will be ICU and three will be used as “swing beds” for skilled nursing or higher acuity levels of care. The hospital is planned with minimal future expansion needs in mind. However, as the patient census ages, patient needs will evolve and the new facility will be constructed with the ability to adapt care modalities to accommodate these changes.
Concordia Parish Hospital is designed for easy patient access to all services with the concept of separating staff/patient traffic from public visitor traffic, as well as outpatient flow from inpatient flow. The open front configuration provides public and outpatient access to services, while a restricted back corridor will be utilized for staff and service access while Department adjacencies designed to maximize staffing efficiencies and reduce travel distances.
