The Maximum Security Jail can house 576 inmates in double-occupancy cells.
This facility is a state-of-the-art correctional facility. Grace Hebert Curtis transformed the Sheriff's ideas into one of the most up-to-date correctional facilities in the country. The level of control over the inmates is something that Bossier Parish has never seen before. The facility is equipped with 288 cells, some single and some double occupancy, according to classification of the inmates.
A complete medical section meets medical needs of inmates not only in this facility, but in other facilities operated by the Sheriff's Office. New technology has been installed to provide video arraignment, to reduce transportation of inmates to court. Also, video visitation reduces movement of inmates throughout the facility. The facility also includes a full commercial kitchen, laundry, medical, booking and administration areas.
This facility completes the infrastructure that makes the criminal justice system in Bossier Parish second to none.
