Ascension Parish Sheriff's Substation & 911 Center

Gonzales, Louisiana

Funded through state grant money, the new Substation & Communications Center will improve the Sheriff's services for the fast growing community.

With the objective to better serve this growing community, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office worked with our design team to develop the program for a new Sheriff’s Substation, featuring a public lobby space with ancillary consultation room to accommodate visitors, offices with squad briefing room and adjacent computer station lab for uniform officers, a booking facility with evidence processing and storage, departmental offices for the Narcotics and Go-team divisions, as well as civil case processing and administrative support offices.

The client challenged our design team with the goal to create a structure that would become an identifiable brand for the Sheriff’s Office; fostering an open and welcoming gesture toward the community they serve, while at the same time balancing the need to safeguard the steady flow of their daily operation and the safety of their employees.

The project also includes a separate facility for a state-of-the-art 911 Communication Center, planned to the most current specialized design criteria, and outfitted with a high-performance raised access flooring system providing flexibility for changing needs with minimal operational disruption.
